Huawei has launched the Huawei Watch 2 as it takes another stab at the smartwatch market with a focus on fitness, looking to steal users from the likes of Fitbit and Apple.
The device comes in two variants – the regular Huawei Watch 2 and a “classic” version – and was launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
Huawei Watch 2 Design
Both models show off a timeless rounded watch design. The ceramic watch bezel is crafted using 23 separate processes, taking 288 hours for an ultra durable construction and luxurious feel. The Sports model features an integrated watch band with three optional colors. The Classic model features interchangeable watchband, and it’s compatible with standard 22mm straps.
Huawei Watch 2 Features
In addition to Bluetooth model, the Huawei Watch 2 has an optional 4G model that supports either SIM or eSIM card, so the smartwatch works well without having to connect with your smartphone, and double 4G, GPS, NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth antenna have been integrated under the watch bezel for optimal signal.
Huawei Watch 2 works as a professional fitness tracker with heart rate monitor witch tracks your activity, heart rate, VO2max, training effect, and more. Its lower crown lets you start your favorite workout app instantly.
The smartwatch comes equipped with a 1.2″ 390×390 rounded touchscreen that shows you time, calendar, fitness data, and notifications from your smartphone. Huawei Watch 2 runs Android Wear 2.0 OS which brings various apps to the watch. Meanwhile, Google Assistant is always ready to help you on your wrist.
Huawei Watch 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 quad-core processor and comes equipped with 768GB RAM and 4GB ROM. Additionally, its 420mAh rechargeable battery offers more than 2 days of usage between charges, and the smartwatch is IP68 certified. This means it has the ability to withstand immersion in water with a depth of 1 meter.

Huawei Watch 2 will be available for preorder in March. The model with Bluetooth is priced at €329 (approx US$348), and the model with 4G costs €379 (approx US$401).
