An international mobile technology brand, Alcatel unveiled the Idol 4S at Mobile World Congress 2016. The phone comes with a VR headset and has VR content available through an app preloaded on it. The whole kit, which includes the phone, case, VR headset, and tempered glass screen protector, is priced at $349.99 for preorders. The price will go up to $399.99 when it hits general availability on 3rd August.

The phone comes out with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080p by 1920 pixels.

The Alcatel Idol 4S is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and it comes with 3 gigabyte of RAM. The phone packs 32 gigabyte of internal storage that can be expanded up to 512 gigabyte via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Alcatel Idol 4S packs a 16MP primary camera on the rear and a 8MP front face shooter for selfies.

The Alcatel Idol 4S runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. The phone measures 153.90 x 75.40 x 6.99 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 149.00 grams.

The Alcatel Idol 4S is a dual SIM smartphone that accepts two Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, NFC, 3G, 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.

Their best feature is the ‘boom key’, a button on the right side (that’s not the lock button!) that does different things depending on what you are doing — and also on how you program it.

You can set it to open the camera when the smartphone is locked, to boost bass when you play music and to take burst shots when you press it and hold. The boom key can boost your speed when you are gaming, or you can set it to open an app.
