HTC has been teasing that its “For U” event will held on January 12, 2017. It is expected that the upcoming smartphone codename is HTC Ocean Note could be unveiled at HTC’s event. But the well-known leaker Evan Blass has obtained a promo video that showcasing HTC’s future smartphone efforts. And after seeing video, it is clear that the company is eager try to something different.

Notably, the phone features a 5.7 inch display with the glass covering both the front and back with an aluminum frame sandwiched in the middle. It’s similar to the LG V20’s QHD resolution display, indicating LG could be supplied.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. According to the leaked photos, its functionality will include app shortcut, the weather, and an always on display mode with the date, time and a battery indicator.

Regarding the camera, the rumors are that it would be a 12 megapixel camera. At the back of the device, there is a rounded square shaped camera, which feels very Samsung when combined with the glass. Despite HTC having used this design previously on the M9 smartphone.

On the top is the SIM card try and a mic, on the side is a textured power button and volume toggle, and there is also a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the device. HTC ditches the headphone jack in the upcoming device, like the Bolt before. It will come in at least three color variants, namely black, dark blue, white, and rose gold.
