The DeskJet 3720 is the latest addition of HP to their DeskJet lineup, the DeskJet 3720 is white and aqua – also known as HP’s own ‘Electric Blue’, also known as cyan. This device is aiming to be compact as possible while remaining capable of printing full-sized (letter) size paper. It is also works with HP Instant Ink, an ink replacement subscription plan that will cost users £1.99 per month – or $3 a month once the printer arrives in the USA.

However, HP is running a special offer with the DeskJet 3720 that gives user the first three months subscription for free, so it might be worth signing up for a few months to see how user get on.

The DeskJet 3720 measures just 140mm high, 403mm wide and 180mm deep as you lift it out of its box. You will need an extra couple of inches for the 60-sheet paper tray that folds out of the back of printer, but you can certainly sit it on a desk or shelf at home without taking up too much space at all.

The printer can print at 1200 x 1200 dpi in black and up to 4800 x 1200 dpi on HP’s premium photo paper. Duplex printing is also possible in manual mode and the 3720 has a low monthly duty cycle of 1,000 pages.

HP claims that this printer can print at up to 19 pages per minute in black and 15 pages per minute in colour (draft mode). The DeskJet 3720 even managed to produce some very stunning photo prints when using glossy postcard paper.
