The creator of Core Bluetooth speaker has unveiled raD, a rugged, portable Bluetooth speaker. Using its unique Radial Soundfield tech, the wireless speaker delivers high-quality audio. The raD will connect with any The Core speakers that you already own.

raD Portable Bluetooth Speaker Features:

raD has Radial Soundfield tech inside that allows for a wave of loud, clear, sound in any environment inside or out. It’s made with a steel grill that is encased in rubbed. One of the core features of raD speaker is that it has an IPX5 water-resistance rating. That means you can use it at the lake, river, beach, or pool without worrying a splash will be the end.

Support for multi-room means that you can add a whole network of raD or The Core speakers and pipe music to any room of your office or home. No apps are needed for the raD to function or be controlled. It has NFC technology for fast pairing and Bluetooth for wireless streaming. The internal battery is good for 8 hours of use per charge.

raD Portable Bluetooth Speaker Specs:

Like their Core speaker, Mass Fidelity’s raD packs five speakers into a pretty small unit — four 1.5″ drivers and a 3″ bass driver. Mass Fidelity has managed to shrink down the case around those speakers, making raD pretty tiny at 5″ x 4.75″ x 3″. Each driver is powered by its own amp, but frequency response is only between 75 Hz and 20kHz, so fans of the sub-bass might want to look elsewhere — or not, because Mass Fidelity just so happens to sell a pretty good external subwoofer, too. All in one, the raD’s smaller size means it is not quite as powerful as their original Core speaker.

raD Portable Bluetooth Speaker Price:

raD speaker is on Indiegogo seeking $50,000 and it has raised over $144,000 with 24 days to go. A single raD Bluetooth speaker will cost $169 and is estimated to ship in April 2017.
